Vauxhall Insignia Grand Sport Detailed Infotainment Review!

Vauxhall's brand new Insignia Grand Sport is an incredible upgrade from the previous model, both inside and out! You can see our review here. But in-particular we really like the new infotainment system on the brand new Insignia. Vauxhall have used the IntelliLink system in the new Vauxhall, which we have recently seen in the Astra and Astra Sports Tourer.

We had the Tech-Line Nav model which featured a slightly larger display due to having a in built SatNav. The centre console is slightly angled at the driver to create a commanding feel in the drivers seat. Even the entry level car comes with a touch screen that can easily be used with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, however the experience is made that much better with the slightly larger display fitted to the cars that feature satellite navigation.

The whole system is laid out like a smartphone with lots of different pages and icons to choose from which you can easily navigate through whilst you are on the move. However, if you pick radio, for example, you may find it tricky to navigate through long lists such as all radio stations as the display can be a bit laggy and some buttons are rather small. However, the great thing is if you don't like the cars onboard system you can just plug in your phone and connect via Android Auto or Apple CarPlay which is easy to do and very intuitive. These offerer a mirrored phone screen up to the car's display for easier use whilst on the move.

However, the best feature by far off the Vauxhall Insignia is OnStar, the personal assistant service fitted to every model of the Insignia. This is a system which can alert the emergency services if you are involved in an accident. It can also stop the car if it is stolen, check fuel levels remotely and they can send information to your sat nav from their call centre in Luton.
